GCI Youth Academy

GCI's Equity Talks Series

Learning & Leadership

  

This program offers classes and activities that focus on writing, communication, research, personal development, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Youth Academy participants also participate in the Greenhouse Forensics, Applied Organizing, Biz Rhetoric, and Word Diversion programs. 


Students grade K-12th are eligible for participation. Classes occur on school campuses and at youth programs during the day and after school. Programming is generally available six days a week, M-Sat. Participants complete four levels of participation during their enrollment. Each level of participation provides increased opportunities and benefits for learning, leadership, and employment.

Our staff is committed to continuing to support educators and students by connecting our mission with school districts and colleges everywhere. This program focuses on innovation and professional development by connecting our mission with schools, businesses, local governments, colleges/universities, non-profit organizations, and individual professionals to facilitate professional development training and events around the globe.

 

GCI offers several professional development programs for future teachers, non-profit founders, entrepreneurs, community organizers, and other professionals. Featured Programs: GCI's Equity Talks Series and  Applied Leadership.

The GCI’s Equity Talks Series is aimed at increasing fairness, understanding, and positive outcomes for clients and the organizations they represent. Our Equity Talks Series provides clients with equity related discussions, narratives, group, and individual activities focused on providing solutions and establishing frameworks for culturally competent training, standards, policies, procedures, products, and services that lead to outstanding outcomes for organizations and continued satisfaction for clients and customers. 


The series is designed specifically for businesses, education institutions, and non-profit organizations.

GCI's Equity Talks Series

  

GCI’s Applied Organizing aims to improve the organizational, administrative, and leadership skills of our participants and the quality of life for the communities in which they live and work. 

Seven Phases of instruction and projects develop the participant’s knowledge of critical issues affecting their daily lives. Constructive and organized community projects serve as real word Applied Organizing Laboratories focused on empowering community leaders and improving the lives of all citizens.

The GCI Youth Academy also offers best practice programs to incarcerated, supervised, post supervised, and high-risk youth ages 9-19. Word Diversion participants may participate in Greenhouse Forensics, Biz Rhetoric, Applied Organizing, or Learning & Leadership. Programming occurs within corrections institutions, court approved supervision sites, and on education campuses. Parents are encouraged to participate along with their children as much as possible.
